And breathe …

Did you know that this card is actually a meditation breathing technique!?

This breathing style calms you down by activating your parasympathetic nervous system. This is your instant access to a full rejuvenating rest.

Do you know anyone who could use this information?

Why not send them a card?

Your parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for the rest and digest functions in our body. Often we are so busy and/or stressed that we aren't able to give our bodies a proper rest. If you're one of those people, this breathing techniques will do wonders for you by helping your body reach that state of rest in which healing happens. For yes, we need rest for healing.

The idea is that you breathe out longer than you breathe in.

Breathe in 2, 3, 4 , hold 2, 3, 4, out 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... (as long as you can)

The pause in between is also important but should be comfortable to hold, don't force it.

Focusing on our breathing is a very wise thing to do.

I remember around the time when my mother passed away when I was 26. There were times I couldn't do anything except for focus on my breathing. Everything else felt out of my control, I had so much anxiety and distress.

This may sound extreme but anyone who has dealt with grief knows this is how it is. So then know that that is ok. Sometimes there is no tomorrow, there is only right here and right now, and then we have our breath to help us through!

I make my Soulcards to help us all remember we are souls! I feel in these trying times the best we can do is go within and follow the guidance we receive from our own inner knowing.

We have all we need, we are all we need.

But for us to be able to access our inner guidance we need to find balance, a state of rest and serenity. Our soul often whispers, she doesn't shout ♡ That's where this breathing technique comes in handy.

Hang in there and keep breathing.

Much love,
Marijke
