Ermine
I based this portrait on The lady with the Ermine by Leonardo Da Vinci, a painting I saw in a museum when visiting Krakow. I love how delicately her face is painted and tried to do her justice.
I am inspired by nature and where Da Vinci’s lady has a dark and sober background, I decided to create a lively scene based on tree bark. The structure in her hair as well is based on tree bark. I can’t wait to play around some more with that idea.
It’s drawn with colour pencils, markers and black pen.
I hope she may bring joy to your house for many years to come!
